Privacy policy
The Routerel app is provided by Sorin-Marian Macău (individual) (“we”), the controller of your personal data. Contact: contact@routerel.app.
What we collect and why
- Account: email, display name, password (stored only hashed by our authentication provider) or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google — to run your account (performance of contract).
- Progress: your answers (question, chosen option, correctness, duration, date), review schedule, XP, streak, badges, saved questions, exam simulations — for the app's features and syncing between devices (contract).
- Settings: language, theme, daily goal, exam date, reminder time, time zone (contract).
- Question reports you send (reason and comment) — to fix questions (legitimate interest).
- Subscription status (active, plan, expiry, trial used) — for access to paid content (contract).
We do not collect payment card data (handled by Google Play), location, contacts, microphone or camera. No ads, no tracking or behavioural analytics. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone. Per-question totals of attempts and correct answers (not linked to you) are used for “% answered correctly” and to find faulty questions.
Who we share it with
Only processors that run the app: Supabase (database and accounts, hosted in the EU, Frankfurt), Google (Google sign-in, Google Play Billing) and RevenueCat (USA, subscription management; receives your account ID and purchase information from Google Play; transfers under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). We do not sell or rent your data.
Retention
As long as you have an account. When you delete it (in the app: Account → Delete account, or by email), we delete the account and all the data above immediately, except totals not linked to you and a cryptographic fingerprint of your email (SHA-256) with the number of free answers used, so the free trial cannot be restarted with the same email (legitimate interest: preventing abuse). Payment records are kept by Google Play and RevenueCat under their legal obligations. See account deletion.
Your rights
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interest. Email contact@routerel.app; we reply within one month. You can complain to the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro) or the authority in your country.
Security, children, changes
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS); the session on your phone is stored encrypted; on the server each user can access only their own data (row-level security). The app is for people aged 16 and over. If we change this policy we update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
